Alberta’s Population Surges As Number of Canadians Heading to the Province Hits 184,400

According to the latest Statistics Canada report, Alberta is experiencing an unprecedented population surge, marked by the highest net interprovincial gains ever recorded for the province and any single province in history.

As of July 1, Alberta’s population reached 4.7 million people, a remarkable increase of over four percent compared to the previous year, equating to an astounding addition of 184,400 individuals.

This population growth trend is not unique to Alberta, as provinces like Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan also witnessed historic increases, primarily driven by a surge in international migration.

This surge in Alberta’s population, both in terms of percentage and sheer numbers, surpasses previous records and sets a new benchmark for growth.
