Canadian Housing Crisis Hits Indian Students

Canada is planning to cap foreign student visas due to a housing shortage, with Indian students struggling to find affordable accommodation.

Students in Ontario colleges like Canadore College and Nipissing University have requested subsidized housing from their universities as they cannot afford the high rents for private accommodation.

Some students were promised accommodation by their institutes but were later told the rooms were booked, forcing them to stay in motels at high costs.

The affected students are seeking help from the Montreal Youth Students Organisation (Myso) and are calling for flexible attendance requirements for immigration purposes.
