Canadians Knock MP Mark Gerretsen For Calling Those That Link Carbon Tax With Inflation “Fools”

On Monday, the Liberal MP of Kingston, Mark Gerretsen posted the following on his X (Twitter) handle:

This has attracted criticisms from many Canadians, with the outstanding hit coming from an Albertan called Marty. Watch his critique below:

Marty has earlier posted his August natural gas bill of $147.48. He wondered why the amount was this much when August is historically when he had the lowest consumption.

Below is the bill he posted which he broke down for his readers and required them to also look into their bills.

Blaming the carbon tax for the inflation we are experiencing is like blaming one snowflake for filling your driveway . Ceo and exec payrates , investor dividends , corporate profits and record bank profits plus corporate welfare all have to accept blame for the inflation not to mention the influences from the Russian vs Ukraine war . The financial system is in a state of meltdown and it will get worse before it gets better

Absolutely . If you bother to do some investigating , what we are experiencing is fairly mild compared to many other places . Many USA cities have rental costs far above those we are dealing with and overall costs have skyrocketed there too with the unexplained exception of food prices which are still high enough . Look at the videos of places like California where the amount of people living in cars or tents or the well known taxpayers shacks . While unpopular with the wealthy people , some form of wealth redistribution has to happen unless you wish to watch your neighbors die of starvation . Ignoring the problem any longer will eventually turn to violent protests as there will be no other options

Absolutely Don. I agree with you completely on wealth redistribution. As the rich keep getting richer, the poor continue to become poorer. Only if the exploitation is eliminated can things get better for everyone
