First Canadian Government Evacuation Flight leaves Israel — Says Minister

CBC just reports Defence Minister Bill Blair’* announcement that the first Canadian military evacuation flight has departed from Tel Aviv, carrying around 130 passengers, including Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and their families.

This evacuation is in response to the recent violence in Israel due to attacks by Hamas and Israeli strikes on Gaza.

The plan involves transporting passengers to Athens, from where commercial flights will facilitate their return to Canada.

Another military flight is preparing to board passengers as part of the ongoing evacuation efforts.

Yesterday I reported that the first privately organized Canadian evacuation flight departs Israel, following the delay in government response.
