Nunavut Municipal Election Holds Today

Today eligible Nunavut voters will be electing mayors, councillors, and alcohol education committee and district education authority members in their various communities.”

Typically, a municipal council consists of eight council members and a mayor, all of whom undergo local elections every four years.

In Nunavut, there are a total of 25 municipal councils, resulting in 498 elected positions. Each municipal council usually comprises eight council members and a mayor, and they are chosen through local elections held every four years.
