5 top grocery stores agree with government to reduce prices of goods

In a bid to tackle the hike in prices of household goods, Canada’s five major grocery stores have agreed to assist the Canadian government in regulating prices.

While addressing reporters, Innovation Minister Francois-Phillipe Champagne said, “They have agreed to the government in its bid to stabilize the prices of goods in Canada” after what seems to be two hours of discussions between both parties.

He also issued that the actions must be taken before October 9 (Thanksgiving day) and must not affect small-scale suppliers and local farmers.

Eric la Fleche, CEO of Metro one of the executives established that they are ready to do everything in their power but they alone can’t do so everything.

Representatives of other grocery stores (Loblaws, Sobeys, Walmart and Costco) were also present.
